ABOUT US

What is Collective healing?

  • Collective loss - We are all holding our traumatic history within our own bodies, whether recent or throughout generations, whether oppressor, survivor, or both.

  • Socio-cultural healing of collective trauma takes this reality into account.

  • Collective healing collaboration encourages developing capacities and behaviors analogous to those that drive healthy generative community cultures to meet their needs

  • For social transformation in crisis areas to succeed, the population must be able to tend to its trauma-related physical and emotional wounds within community

  • a process that simultaneously builds individual [resilience] and collective cultural capacity while contributing to positive social change.

WHY DOES THIS TEAM EXIST?

With the rise of coronavirus worldwide, division and the overt exposure to systems of  archaic injustices, the globalizing world community is facing these enemies together. Later generations are born vulnerable to continued oppressions, emotional and physical health, leading to deep isolation and individualistic thinking. Today, we are seeing the children and humanity rise with each traumatic event, with messages of unity and need for change and healing.

If unsupported, people who have been humiliated can lose self-respect and the ability to revere life, which results in anger, isolation and dis-ease. Such disconnection can lead to aggression towards others or self. Yet, it is within this liminal time that we are capable of finding our connection back towards wholeness.
In this globalizing world, within uncertain times, there is an opportunity for hope, connection and collaborative bridging towards collective healing. An infusion of awareness, intercultural resilience exchange and possibilities, into the infrastructure of education, health and community systems will encourage collectively healing the divide.
